Inga Raw, MA, CCC-Q

Canadian Certified Counsellor (Qualifying) offering warm, collaborative support to youth, adults, and couples.

Inga Raw

Inga is a counsellor and qualifying member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She works with youth, adults, and couples, helping clients navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, major life transitions, relationship challenges, and cross-cultural experiences with greater self-awareness, resilience, and hope.

With more than 25 years of experience supporting individuals, families, and communities in South Africa and Canada, Inga has worked as a counsellor, emotional intelligence (EI) coach, parent coach, group facilitator, and child and youth worker. She is passionate about emotional intelligence and the role it plays in fostering emotional well-being, healthy relationships, and resilience. Her diverse personal and professional experiences have shaped a deep appreciation for the uniqueness of every person's story.

Having lived in five countries, Inga enjoys working with people from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. She has experience supporting clients through trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, major life transitions, immigration and cross-cultural adjustment, estrangement, relationship difficulties, infidelity, addictions, betrayal, and church-related trauma.

Counselling Approach

Inga's approach is grounded in warmth, curiosity, and genuine respect. She believes the counselling relationship should be a safe, collaborative space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to move toward meaningful change.

Her work draws from several evidence-based approaches, including Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Rather than following a single method, Inga tailors therapy to each client's goals, strengths, and circumstances.

Personal Background

Outside the counselling room, Inga enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, creating art, swimming, cooking, and dancing around the living room. She is married, has three young adult children, and values the rich perspective gained through years of ministry, homeschooling, education, and international living.

I strive to create a warm, collaborative space where you can explore your story with curiosity, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change. ~ Inga
